Katharine Draper studied art in college and has a degree in graphic design from Parsons School of Design, NYC. Along with raising three children I became an educator, teaching elementary school and art to children and adults. I like to garden and found a teacher of ikebana, Japanese flower arranging, with whom I have studied a long time combining plants and art. This study has influenced my painting and printmaking especially the last fifteen years. I am an artist guild member of the Silvermine Arts Center, past board member, and am associated with several galleries locally and member of numerous art centers. I have received awards from Catharine Lorillard Wolf Club, Art of the Northeast, New Haven Paint and Clay, Rowayton Arts Center and CT. Contemporary Print Center.
