Peter Massini is a helicopter based aerial photographer currently working on a wide spectrum of project types, from commercial corporate location assignments to Fine Art. As an aerial specialist, his care, proficiency, and attention to detail are only sharpened when he is forced from the common comfort of terra firma.
Peter’s adventurous spirit finds him hanging from the open door of a helicopter, persistent in his quest for the best possible shot on each and every assignment. This persistence and tenacity are vividly evident in the stunning work he produces for clients, as well as in his dazzling, large-format iconography of NYC, which he has placed in private and corporate settings worldwide.
From early in his photographic journey, Peter has shown a keen sense for relational and geometric pattern, specifically in his landscape and cityscape work. He has spent the past decade - plus honing this intuition through his frequent work from various aircraft. This particular focus has brought a fresh, compelling aspect to his advertising and editorial assignments, but is perhaps expressed most dramatically in his personal artistic endeavors as displayed in his most recent show at The Lionheart Gallery in Pound Ridge NY.
Flying almost daily over NYC he is continuously shooting aerials for clients as well as various personal projects including giant cityscapes and a project entitled Super Structure in which he captures the infrastructure of NYC that he is so fond of. A recent aerial shoot of various sporting locations around the city for Adidas is now hanging large in the new flagship store on 5th Avenue.
Originally hailing from Darien, CT, Peter is the proprietor of both Peter Massini Photography and Big City Aerials. He has been shooting commercial and personal work for over 20 years in the greater NYC area and currently lives in Norwalk, CT.
