Bobbie Suratt paints in a contemporary impressionistic style. She uses light in her portraits, still life and landscapes to convey mood and emotion. She finds colors in her subjects that a camera often misses, using warm and cool tones to give form and depth.
Bobbie has worked with clay, fabric, watercolor, pastel, acrylics and oils. She has always had a desire to express herself creatively, but has focused on oils since 2005. She loves the viscosity and texture of the paint, the depth of color and the permanence of the medium.
Bobbie currently lives with her husband in Wellesley, MA. They have also had the opportunity to live in Asia and Europe. This experience of living abroad and traveling has enriched both her life and her art. She has two grown children and five grandchildren who light up her life.
