Mari Gyorgyey received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from University of Pennsylvania. She has studied with master painters and printers at Yale University, Academy of Arts in Budapest, and in ateliers in Rome, and Lucca, Italy. She has exhibited her paintings and silks in the United States and Europe.
Mari has been painting designs and images all her life. Her work brought her to New York where her paintings were parlayed into textile designs. Miss Gyorgyey has worked for Fischer and Gentile Fabrics, Nicole Miller, and has created fabrics for 3 collections at Dianne B. and 6 collections for Beau Ties LTD. She continues to sell her paintings all over the world.
Mari’s silk design and paintings has been featured at Surtex, NY Gift, and Armory Shows as well as NYC Design Center where her paintings and textiles have been featured on custom pillows and lampshades. Mari can be found at her studio in Norwalk, Ct. painting, fine art etching, and painting silk designs.
Miss Gyorgyey’s paintings and drawings integrate her design background, and her content is strongly influenced by humor, detail and color.
