Cara McCabe

Allowing the paint to guide her, Cara's work spans a range of painting techniques from landscape to portraiture and abstract structure. She uses sense memories and photographs to translate various colors, moods and textures into an artistic experience. Motivated by emotional connections and relationships, her paintings often have an element of psychology and mythology to them.

Cara received a BA from Middlebury College with honors and a Master's Degree from Harvard University with highest honors.

Cara studied fine art at The London Guildhall University in London, The School of Visual Arts, and The New School in New York City, The Silvermine School of Art and Rowayton Art Center in Connecticut.

She grew up on a farm in Newburyport, Massachusetts, spent many years living in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York and now resides in Connecticut with her children.
