Christine Frisbee

Christine Frisbee is an American painter, who lives in Bedford, NY and on Cape Cod. Born in 1951, in
Summit, New Jersey, she paints both representational and contemporary paintings and creates clay
sculptures.

Always busy creating and drawing from a very young age, Christine was introduced to oil painting at the
age of 14 at Oak Knoll School, in Summit. She continued to paint through high school and in college. In
the 1970s she studied oil painting in a small studio in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. She moved to
London in 1983 where she studied art history, the museum collections and gold leafing. When Christine
moved to New York City she studied under Sam Adoquei at the National Art Gallery, with Simon
Levinson at the National Arts Club and with Leah Lopez at the New York Academy of Art. On Cape Cod
she took workshops with Dennis Rafferty of Maine and Jonathan McPhillips of Rhode Island.
