Erin Dolan grew up on the East End of Long Island some of her earliest memories as a child were along the Long Island Sound looking out toward Connecticut.
Erin studied Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, receiving a BFA in Fine Art where she graduated with departmental distinction. Upon graduating she moved back to the East Coast to pursue her career as an artist, educator, and scholar. Erin received a M.A. in Art Education from New York University. After graduating she continued to live and work in New York City for another ten years where she taught art at a variety of public and private schools and lead summer education programs at the Museum of Art and Design. Along side her teaching career she continued to create and exhibit art in NYC. After ten years of teaching, she took a self-selected sabbatical from teaching to “Just Paint” for three years in Hawaii during this time Erin also worked with a non-profit she helped to co-found Rock “N” Renew, where she created educational programming that connects, Art, Music and Ecology.
When she returned to teaching she moved back to the east coast and currently resides in South Norwalk, Ct. for the past 8 years she has embraced the local art community in South Norwalk and Fairfield County becoming a member and studio artist at Wilson Avenue loft artists. She is a full time Upper School faculty member at Rye Country Day School in Rye, NY. Erin recently received a $1000 award from Scholastic Art and Writing and Golden Paints as a top Art Educator and Artist.
