Empi Morn

Empi Mörn is an artist, musician, and former CCNS parent currently working in Geneva, Switzerland. Her love of fine craftsmanship and the meditative exercise of precise paper folding has led to this series of pixelated wall art made with origami boxes. The different papers have been sourced from living and traveling in Asia and Europe, and every box is hand-folded and assembled by the artist.
Her painted series is an extension of this practice: incorporating paintings and patterns that she paints and draws on-site, thus evoking a sense of atmosphere and place.
Ms. Mörn is largely self-taught as a visual artist, but has taken classes at the Rowayton Arts Center, the Silvermine Arts Center and the Art Students League of NY. In addition to her studio work, she is active in the international Urban Sketchers organization, and teaches classes in drawing and painting in Geneva and Malaga, Spain.
