Artist Joanne Gray grew up on the South West of England in Cornwall. Surrounded by sand and the turquoise sea, she fell in love with anything seaside related.
Salt Water Fish Rubbings was born in 2011 after a trip to Cape Cod where she stumbled upon Gyotaku Art by a local artist. She was inspired and began studying the Japanese technique, Gyotaku. Over the past five years, Joanne has honed her technique and received awards and recognition from local design and media outlets such as Serendipity Magazine, the 2016 Editors pick in New Canaan, Darien & Rowayton Magazine as well as interior design blogs.
Joanne lives in Norwalk with her husband and two sons and has a charming shop on the water in Rowayton.
