Jacqueline deMontravel is an artist with media experience as a creative director, editor,
writer, designer, photographer and stylist. She is the author of eight books, including Hers
and Vintage Vavoom: Decorating with One of a Kind Finds.
With decades of creative expertise, Jacqueline was the editorial director of
Engaged Media’s lifestyle group, publishing Cottages & Bungalows, Yum magazines and

Formerly holding editor positions with Country magazine, Conde Nast's Self magazine
and GQ, she also has been a contributor to Hearst's Harper's Bazaar, Oxygen Media,
Lucky and Black Book magazines.
Her background in art began as a child when she accompanied her mother to
museums while she studied for her MFA and then went on to direct her own gallery.
Jacqueline studied fine arts at Georgetown University. She is inspired by such abstract
artists as Matisse, Picasso and has an affinity to Milton Avery for his bold use of
alternative colors. Her works can be seen on her website ducks goose or at Darien’s
Geary Gallery. When she creates customized pieces for a client she cultivates the inherent
design aesthetic of a home and nurtures its defining qualities.
