I, Tim Davis, conceived of this art and produce it all personally by hand.
I have always had a penchant for geography, travel, and languages. If I want to fall to sleep to a good book, I will often grab an atlas. Also, as a young (as well as a not-so-young) man, I vacationed on and around the coastal islands of New England. I hold these memories and places close to my heart.
I have also always worked with my hands and with materials. After doing so around the fringes of a 30-year career in international finance, I dedicate more of my time to my art these days. I have always worked with wood. A few years ago, I studied metalworking at a nearby arts community center, built my own shop in our 2-car garage, and taught myself about chemistry and rusting metals.
The result is what you see here: Beautiful, iconic, oxidized metal wall pieces that bring you back to warm memories. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
