WE'RE EXCITED TO HAVE ALL SELECTED ARTISTS JOIN US FOR THESE THREE SPECIAL DAYS! Dear Artist, We are excited to announce that the 57th Annual CCNS Art Show & Sale will take place on May 30 - June 1, 2019. We have relocated to a new space, The Rowayton Bait Shop, which is in the same area as last year's venue, however it is a different warehouse building. Located at 302 Wilson Ave, Norwalk, CT 06854. We are thrilled to be in a very open and large space similar to the past two years. This has allowed us to present the art in more of a gallery fashion. The new space is meant to store boats when they are not in the water, It’s a very large warehouse space behind the SoNo Icehouse in Norwalk. The CCNS Art Show is the school’s primary annual fundraiser. We love our school and truly enjoy having such a unique fundraiser that not only helps to provide for the school’s costs and scholarships, but also is a fun event where artists and the community get together. We sincerely appreciate your support. CCNS has an expansive patron base that has supported the CCNS Art Show for more than half a century. Our patrons benefit from a tax deduction of 40% of their total art purchase. The artist and CCNS share the commission on a 60/40 basis respectively. All collected artwork is fully insured by CCNS from the designated collection period until the designated return period. Highlights from last year’s CCNS Art Show: Over $90,000 in artwork sales proceeds Broad media exposure in print and social media Many artists reported additional commissions following the Art Show Key Details for 2018 We invite you to submit up to five (5) pieces of original artwork for display and sale in our show this year. It is not guaranteed that all five pieces will be accepted. For your artwork submissions we understand you may not be able to provide us with the exact pieces that will appear in the show, so please provide us with examples that would be as close as possible in style and size and we will be able to base the submission off of that information. There is a $40 non-refundable application fee. Our Art Committee will review all submissions and contact those artists who have been chosen to display their work in the show. We receive many applications per year and unfortunately cannot accommodate all artists. If you are not chosen to be in the show, your application fee cannot be refunded, so please keep that in mind. Please restrict your submissions to pieces that are 24”x36” (including the frame) or under. If you have a larger piece that you feel strongly about, you may submit one (1) or reach out to the Fine Arts Chair with questions, but understand that we are restricting the number of larger pieces in the show this year so we can better accommodate all artists. Our goal is to finalize the exact pieces that will be in the show in April. The deadline to submit is March 21, 2019. We are limiting the show to fewer artists than we have in the past and we will make decisions as the submissions come in on a rolling basis. So please do not wait if you would like to be considered for the 2019 CCNS Art Show! Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about this process at CCNSArtShowRowayton@gmail.com. Thank you, Alexandra Murphy (Fine Arts Chair, 2019)
