The inspiration for my atmospheric marshscape paintings is the beauty of the ever changing coastline – especially the shimmering light and sky. I begin with either heavy-gauge watercolor paper or canvas, which I coat with a luminous rose-gold base. From there, I play with translucent oil-paint glazes to build layers of color and light. My goal is to capture a sense of atmosphere and an emotional undercurrent in each piece.
