Soledad Bence

I am originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, but I have spent the last 20 years living across London, Madrid, New York, and currently Greenwich, CT. Every place where I’ve lived has made a profound impact on my life and has significantly influenced my work. I draw inspiration from the extraordinary found in the mundane, from nature, from the little things in everyday life, from feelings, from memories… My work has a two-fold path, one premeditated and planned, and the other intuitive and free. Even though I may come to the studio with a plan, emotions or circumstances of the day will strongly influence the painting and change the flow and significance of it. I love every step of the creative process from how an idea comes about, is developed, and changes until a piece is done.
